Job Summary
This role is responsible for providing direct patient care to assigned patients, conducting nursing history and assessments, and implementing individualized care plans. The ideal candidate will have a registered general nurse license in good standing with the Nursing & Midwife Board of Ireland (NMBI) and preferably 1 year of post-nursing registration experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver direct care to assigned patients, conducting nursing history and assessing patient signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status.
* Implement individualized care plans for newly admitted patients as per policy.
* Administer nursing interventions consistent with the medical care plan.
* Notify nursing and medical staff of any changes in patient status.
* Maintain aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Adhere to The Professional Scope of Practice Framework 2000 (Nursing & Midwife Board of Ireland).
* Ensure individual patient assessments, care plans, and evaluations are in place.
* Provide care in optimal clinical environments, following all nursing and hospital policies.
Managerial Responsibilities
* Identify and communicate issues to the Nurse Manager promptly.
* Demonstrate confidence and competence in hospital policies and guidelines.
* Manage complaints effectively.
Personal and Professional Responsibilities
* Maintain a professional portfolio.
* Utilize opportunities to educate patients and their families.
* Participate in performance reviews with the Nurse Manager.
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse license in good standing with the Nursing & Midwife Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Preferably, 1 year of post-nursing registration experience.
