Location: Waterford / Hybrid Reporting To: Management and Budgeting Accountant Terms: Permanent full-time (39 hour week Monday-Friday) Salary Range: €51,850 - €67,100 per annum ( Please note that offers are typically made at the beginning to mid-range of the advertised salary, based on skills and experience) Job Purpose: To support the Management and Budgeting Accountant in the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual budget process, financial reports and returns.
Core Duties and Responsibilities: Preparation of Monthly management accounts for review and finalisation.
Act as Finance Partner to departmental leaders providing insights and support to help achieve operational and strategic goals.
Lead role in the annual budgeting process, including preparation, consolidation and analysis.
Manage monthly cash flow forecast, liquidity (KPI) management and optimizing the organisation's financial position.
Quarterly Profitability Reporting by funding type.
Departmental Reporting and review of key variances.
Support and provide financial insights for value for money (VFM) initiatives.
Assist in monthly trial balance review.
Assist in the documentation of controls and departmental procedures.
Support process improvement, system development and cost-saving initiatives.
Management of the project asset management system (RAM).
Completion of returns to Housing Body Regulatory Authority.
Supervision of an assistant accountant.
Work with internal and external auditors to ensure processes and financial statement are audit ready.
Any other duties that may arise from time to time.
Essential Criteria/Education Qualification: Qualified Accountant with recognised processional accounting qualification.
3 - 5 years' experience at management accountant level.
Ideally with experience in the AHB/construction sector Technical Skills/Personal Attributes: High computer literacy including proficiency in the MS Office suite in particular advanced knowledge in Excel.
Good oral and written communication skills, report writing and the delivery of presentations where required.
Ability to work on own initiative, as a team player, work with integrity and supervise a team.
Ability to set up priorities and complete tasks to a schedule.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and grow within the position.
