Vision Contracting Ltd. are expanding our team and are currently looking to recruit a Graduate Site Engineer to join our expanding team in the Dublin region. The successful candidate will be initially based in Naas.
Role Overview:
As a Graduate Site Engineer, you will be involved in assisting the delivery of construction projects on-site. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of engineering tasks, working closely with experienced professionals, and developing your career in the construction industry. You will support the daily site operations and be involved in setting out, surveying, and ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting Out & Surveying: Assist with setting out and leveling of the site, ensuring all work is accurate and in accordance with project plans and drawings.
* Site Supervision: Work closely with the site management team to monitor daily operations, ensuring work is executed in line with project specifications.
* Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures on-site, promoting a safe working environment for all.
* Quality Control: Assist in monitoring the quality of workmanship and materials used, ensuring they meet the required standards.
* Communication: Liaise with subcontractors, site workers, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate site records, including daily progress reports, material quantities, and any variations.
* Problem Solving: Support in identifying and resolving technical challenges on-site, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
* Learning & Development: Engage in continuous learning by attending internal training sessions, industry seminars, and on-site mentoring.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Educational Background: A recent degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
* Health & Safety Knowledge: Awareness of construction health and safety regulations and best practices.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive attitude.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team and take initiative when required.
* Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and detail in all tasks.
* Driving License: A full, clean driving license is essential as travel between sites may be required.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience: Any previous experience in a construction environment, including internships or placements, will be an advantage.
* Technical Skills: Knowledge of AutoCAD, setting out, and surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, total station).
* IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project).
