Applications are invited for an appointment as Deputy Director of Human Resources – HR Operations, Assistant Secretary, 1 FTE, Permanent at University of Galway.
As the Deputy Director of Human Resource - Operations, the post holder will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing our human resources functions.
This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills, a strong understanding of HR operations, and the ability to drive efficiency and effectiveness within the Human Resources Directorate.
The post holder will lead and manage key functions within the HR Directorate, including recruitment and contracts, employee leave schemes, and HR Information Systems.
The post holder will be required to ensure that all KPI's are in line with best practice, provide regular reports on KPI's to support the university business.
The post will lead initiatives to focus on candidate attraction and succession planning strategies.
This role is pivotal in fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring that the onboarding plan for new staff is in line with best practice supporting the new staff transition and ensuring that hiring managers are aware of their responsibilities to supporting a new staff member joining the University.
The post holder will ensure that processes and procedures are reviewed to ensure quality enhancements are made in a timely manner to support an efficient operations model.
The role reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and works closely with the senior Human Resources team.
Salary: €109,327 - €125,102 (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the QA321 University's Remuneration & Payroll Policy.
This appointment will be made on the Assistant Secretary payscale in line with current Government pay policy.
