Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
* Perform radiographic examinations as required in accordance with competency framework.
* Maintain a high standard of radiography.
* Participate in on-call service as needed.
* Adhere to radiation protection principles including justification, optimization (ALARA), and dose constraints. Stay informed about relevant directives and standards.
* Conduct routine inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures. Report any issues promptly.
* Acknowledge personal limitations and seek guidance from senior staff when necessary.
* Follow directions from superiors and departmental protocols.
* Stay updated on current techniques and advancements in radiography. Engage in Continued Professional Development.
* Ensure cleanliness, tidiness, and safety in the department. Adhere to infection control procedures.
* Comply with Health and Safety rules and regulations.
* Report any safety issues promptly.
* Provide quality service to patients with a focus on individualized care, efficiency, and confidentiality.
* Fulfill other duties as assigned by superiors.
* Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and non-radiographic staff.
* Participate in radiology Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) as required.
* Adapt to evolving service requirements and changes within the hospital.
Qualifications:
* BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography
* CORU registered
* Some post-qualification experience in a radiology department is desirable.
Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge:
* Ability to interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
* Strong communication skills to address enquiries and complaints effectively.
* Proficiency in presenting information clearly.
* Mathematical aptitude to operate complex radiological equipment.
* Problem-solving skills to collect data and draw valid conclusions.
