Health, Safety, and Environment Officer (Food & Beverage Manufacturing Industry)

About the Role
You’ll play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing strategies that improve our HSE outcomes. Through close collaboration with key stakeholders and departments, you’ll champion a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Driving Safety and Environmental Culture
• Shape and promote a positive safety culture at every level of the organization.
• Develop and implement annual HSE objectives and strategies aligned with site goals.
• Lead the site safety team, regularly reviewing outcomes to ensure continual improvement.
Training and Awareness
• Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to deliver HSE training programs.
• Conduct regular competency reviews and close skill gaps to ensure everyone understands their safety obligations.
Incident Management and Emergency Preparedness
• Establish robust frameworks for investigating incidents, near-misses, and accidents.
• Implement corrective actions and preventive measures based on findings.
• Maintain and test emergency response plans through coordinated drills and exercises.
Environmental Responsibility
• Identify opportunities to minimize energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions.
• Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, leading initiatives that minimize our environmental footprint.
Key Skills and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety or a related field, with professional affiliations such as IOSH or IEMA.
• Proven experience in HSE management within a food manufacturing or similarly regulated environment.
• Deep knowledge of standards including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and HACCP Level 3.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with a process-driven mindset.
• Familiarity with lean enterprise practices and energy management systems is a plus.
