The School of Education is looking to hire an Assistant Professor in Irish Language Education. The successful candidate will be a specialist in immersion and Gaeltacht education and/or applied linguistics and will have an interest in advocating for the Irish language within Irish education and society. They will be fully conversant with the Council of Europe Framework of Reference for Languages and European and national policy in relation to the Irish language.
The successful candidate will teach and supervise on the Irish language education programmes in the School, including the supervision of postgraduate student research. The post-holder will undertake research, knowledge generation, and dissemination in the field of Irish language education.
