The team of three lawyers is now looking to add another legal counsel to assist. The company has offices in Cork and Dublin with regional offices in Waterford and Limerick. It operates a blended hybrid flexible work arrangement between office and home work.
As a member of the legal team, you will be responsible for:
Responsibilities:
1. Reviewing commercial agreements, Privacy and Confidentiality Agreements, Codes of Practice, Clientdue diligence, Candidate, Employment and Contractor Agreements, Supplier agreements, Master Service Agreements, Consultancy and Statement of Work as well as other kinds of common agreements or legal documents for all countries in the Group as received from the Operations Team.
2. This role involves identifying areas of legal risk, contractual risk and insurance risk, advising team members on complex contract matters in plain English, protecting the Group's interests, and mitigating risk exposure through a business lens.
3. You will be required to familiarise yourself with the Group's commercial standards so as to ensure contracts are up-to-date and have all the necessary terms and contractual flow-downs.
4. As part of your day-to-day role, you will be required to draft, edit, mark-up and flag risks in contracts to the contract owner, as well as coordinating across internal teams whose input to contracts may be required. You need to be comfortable with providing advise to the Operations Team in negotiating changes with Clients and Suppliers. At times this may include joining conference calls with Clients and Suppliers to support operations on negotiations and contenscious matters as needed though this is mostly for escalated matters and not day-to-day.
5. Supporting the Supplier Risk Management program and the Client Risk Management program including preparing and completing risk escalation memos for sign off.
6. Key to the role is responding within an agreed time frame, representing Contract Management and upholding established process on cross-functional teams.
7. Ensuring all contracts are recorded accurately, validated and managed accordingly including using our contract management system.
8. Liaise with in-country lawyers across Ireland, UK and Asia as needed.
9. Review the Standard Terms of Business for each country at least twice per year to ensure they are kept up to date.
10. Support ad hoc internal legal queries and HR with employment related matters.
11. Understanding of GDPR and its impact on business and the ability to research and build upon internal team knowledge on regulatory matters.
Key Competencies:
12. This is a fast paced working environment with a varity of legal documents, issues and working practices across the different jurisdictions when you will be required to become familiar with and turn around a high volume of contract reviews.
13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues to a non-legal audience.
14. Decisive and diplomatic in dealing with Clients and Suppliers to reach resolving disputes, overcoming differences, escalating where appropriate but ability to hold your ground on non-negotiables.
15. Independent self-starter.
16. Works well with others of varied backgrounds with an ability to build strong relationships across business functions.

Skills Required:
20. Minimum 2-3 years PQE in commercial law
21. Proven track record in dealing with commercial agreements
