The role
The Analyst Programmer role is one of several technology roles defined within the ICT Department. The role is analogous to a Grade VI Officer of the Council. For this recruitment, the successful candidate will be assigned several tasks and activities which they will be expected to undertake; however, they may from time to time be temporarily or permanently reassigned to other duties as directed by the Head of the Department. The office is whole-time, permanent, and pensionable. A panel will be formed to fill permanent and temporary vacancies in the area of End User Computing and Infrastructure only. Persons employed will be required to work in any location within the South Dublin administrative area.

€55,641-€56,969-€58,586-€61,629-€63,447-€65,706(LSI1)-€67,977(LSI2)
Hours of Work
The successful candidate's normal hours of work will be 35 hours per week. The Council reserves the right to alter your hours of work from time to time.
Annual Leave
Annual leave entitlement for this position is 30 days.

Qualifications
Character
Candidates will be of good character.
Health
Each candidate must be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Essential Education, Training, Experience
* Have attained a good standard in general education.
* Have a minimum of four years satisfactory experience in a technical support or development-related capacity in areas such as computer technical or application support, geographic information systems, computer programming, or a combination of the aforementioned.
* Possess a high standard of training and/or experience in areas such as:
o Infrastructure
o End User Computing
o Major Application Support
o Application and Website Design
o Geographic Information Systems
* Be well organised and practical, with a logical, analytical approach to problem solving.
Desirable Education, Training, Experience
* NFQ Level eight Qualification in Computer Studies or an equivalent accredited certified IT qualification.
* Have a minimum of two years satisfactory experience in a senior capacity with responsibility for end user computing or ICT infrastructure issues.
* Have formal Information and Communications Technology (ICT) education.
* Have strong interpersonal skills, excellent technical knowledge and skills, and be a proven team player.
