Senior Accountant Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Clonmel. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic accountant to grow within a manufacturing environment and engage at a senior level across multiple factory locations.
* Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly management accounts to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate supporting documentation.
* Production Analysis: Compile and analyze weekly production reports, including variance analysis for management insights.
* Costing Assessment: Assess and compare standard costing versus actual costings for all products.
* Intercompany Recharges: Manage intercompany recharges, including communication, posting, and reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
* Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and submit all regulatory, tax, and statistical returns within required deadlines.
* Budgeting: Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of annual budgets.
* Stock Management: Oversee stock control and reconciliations across multiple stock locations.
* System Development: Contribute to the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the stock management system and IT system developments.
* Audit Liaison: Liaise with external auditors as required.
* Financial Alignment: Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure financial alignment with business objectives.
* Financial Control: Maintain a strong financial control environment at all times.
* Process Improvement: Continuously review, improve, and automate standardized finance processes.
* AR/AP Team Leadership: Lead and develop the AR/AP team, ensuring performance management and professional development.
* Complex Issue Resolution: Act as the escalation point for more complex AP/AR issues.
* Ad Hoc Reporting: Contribute to finance team initiatives and handle ad hoc reporting as needed.
* Qualifications: ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA qualified accountant with 1-2 years of industry experience in a similar role.
* Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills to oversee and develop the accounting administration team.
* IT Proficiency: Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Excel; knowledge of Insight is an advantage.
