We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead and establish a Project Management Office (PMO) within a growing organisation. This is a strategic leadership role that requires a strong grasp of project and programme management, revenue and margin impact, and the ability to shape project delivery structures from the ground up. The company operates within a Microsoft-focused environment, delivering enterprise solutions including MS Dynamics, Microsoft 365, and Azure. They have a mix of lucrative government contracts and commercial projects, with ambitious growth plans. Key Responsibilities PMO Establishment & Leadership Set up and lead a Project Management Office (PMO), overseeing multiple concurrent projects. Develop and implement document control policies, standardised project methodologies, and best practices. Allocate and manage Project Manager (PM) and Business Analyst (BA) resources, coordinating internal teams and external partners. Ensure compliance with project budgets, timelines, and governance standards. Contribute to sales and pre-sales activities, providing insight into project feasibility, resource planning, and risk assessment. Project Delivery & Execution Lead end-to-end project delivery across a portfolio of government and commercial projects. Define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Maintain oversight of milestones, deliverables, risks, and change management processes. Engage directly with clients, executives, and technical teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment. Ensure adherence to best practices in software development life cycle (SDLC) and service delivery models (MSP ticketing, alert management). Provide high-level project governance, ensuring successful on-premise and cloud-based solution delivery. Key Requirements 15+ years in project/programme management, with 10+ years in senior leadership roles. Experience in establishing and running a PMO from the ground up. Strong Microsoft technology background (MS Dynamics, Microsoft 365, Azure). Proven ability to manage revenue/margin implications in a services business. Experience working in an MSP environment, including ticketing and alert management systems. Ability to scope high-level project requirements and ensure effective execution. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills must be comfortable working with clients, executives, and technical teams.
