Policy Manager Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Manager to lead the development of policies that support the growth and development of the wind energy sector in Ireland and at European level.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Irish planning and environmental policy, particularly in relation to the energy and electricity sectors. They will be responsible for:
1. Leading the development of policies to promote wind energy and other enabling technologies in Ireland and at European level.
2. Representing the organization in interactions with Government agencies, policymakers, members, and other stakeholders.
3. Monitoring policy developments relating to consenting renewable energy and grid, and identifying key opportunities, risks, and issues.
4. Building and maintaining effective relationships with senior stakeholders in the relevant Government departments and State bodies.
5. Collaborating with other team members and stakeholders to coordinate committee meetings, working groups, and policy forums.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years' experience working in a policy or research role, with a strong track record of success. They will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, succinct reports and presentations.
Required Criteria:
* Legal, planning, environmental, or energy-related third-level qualification.
* Enthusiastic and high-calibre candidate with a minimum of 4 years experience working in a policy or research role.
* Knowledge of Irish planning and environmental policy, particularly in relation to the energy and electricity sectors in Ireland.
* Experience in an advocacy environment, with a clear understanding of Irish and European current affairs and political systems.

Estimated Salary: €60,000 - €80,000 per annum depending on experience.
