Project Quality Manager
Job Summary:
Lead and manage a team of quality inspectors, engineers, and coordinators for a large-scale project with a top Civil & Marine Engineering contractor in Cork. This is a full-time permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily inspections and testing of construction materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Provide guidance and mentoring to construction teams on quality standards, inspection procedures, and best practices.
* Coordinate with construction management, design teams, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues and ensure project goals are achieved.
* Maintain thorough records of inspections, tests, certifications, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
* Review, audit, and monitor the implementation of the project quality plan and procedures.
* Provide a progress report to the client and project management.
* Ensure the development, implementation, and audit of complex inspection and test plans, standards, and acceptance criteria, and work instructions.
* Investigate and lead investigations into non-conformances and corrective actions.
* Provide guidance and assistance on quality matters to all staff on site.
* Work with clients to ensure that quality standards & procedures are successfully submitted, approved & implemented.
* Undertake regular walk-through inspections of the site works to identify and report any quality compliance concerns.
* Coordinate the resolution of all matters pertaining to quality.
* Implement a structured approach towards systems handover / project completion.
* Effective communication with clients and the project team.
Requirements:
* Must have a third-level qualification.
* Must have a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in construction-related quality management systems.
* Experience on construction projects.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and standards.
* Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems - requirements) international standard or equivalent.
* Must have experience in inspection, testing, and quality control for major civil engineering work.
* Preferably will have experience in material testing on civil engineering projects.
* Must have excellent oral and written communication capabilities.
* Must have a full driving license.
