We are seeking a Senior Engineer (Drainage) to join a Sustainable Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a Chartered Engineer or an individual working towards Chartered status, with extensive experience in delivering drainage networks for various infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead projects in urban development and renewable energy, while working within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team.
Requirements:
* Degree in Civil Engineering.
* Minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience in civil engineering, particularly in drainage design.
* Chartered Engineer status or in the process of achieving it.
* Proficient in drainage network design, including Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS).
* Familiarity with modelling software such as InfoDrainage, Micro Drainage, Causeway Flow, or Autodesk Storm and Sewer.
* Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D is advantageous.
* Excellent communication, management, analytical, and organisational skills.
* Full driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and delivery of drainage systems for infrastructure projects, including highways, active travel, greenways, and urban developments.
* Conduct hydrological and flood risk assessments for various sites.
* Collaborate with CAD Technicians to plan and manage CAD documentation effectively.
* Work closely with engineers, ecologists, and scientists to ensure integrated project delivery.
* Supervise and mentor junior staff within the Sustainable Infrastructure team.
* Prepare technical reports, tender documents, and proposal submissions.
* Attend on-site meetings with clients and other professionals to ensure project alignment.
* Ensure compliance with quality assurance, management systems, and health and safety legislation.
* Deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining quality standards.
