Our client is a leading Life Sciences company based in Cork and they currently have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Engineer. This is a full time, permanent role. The EHS Engineer will take the lead in establishing and enforcing high EHS standards, while promoting a proactive EHS culture across operations. You will be reporting directly to the EHS Manager.
Responsibilities:
1. Conducting EHS assessments and approvals for all process and equipment changes within the operation.
2. Maintaining collaborative relationships with the EHS team, Operational Area Managers, and Functional Managers to develop and implement effective EHS strategies.
3. Leading audits and inspections, compiling EHS metrics and KPIs data, and identifying trends for both Corporate EHS and site management.
4. Overseeing EHS systems (including Chemical Management, Accident/Incident Reporting, Occupational Monitoring, etc.), and leading or participating in Root Cause Investigations as needed.
5. Interpreting regulatory changes and providing guidance to Cork site operations to ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, including IE Licensing and ISO45001/ISO14001 standards.
6. Identifying opportunities to continuously enhance a proactive EHS culture within the organization.
Role Requirements:
1. Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent, minimum 3 years post qualification experience required.
2. Extensive experience within a regulated manufacturing environment; Life Science or Pharmaceutical experience is desirable.
3. Strong experience in chemical management system and machine safety and/or regulatory/IE Licensing desirable.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
