We are currently recruiting a Clinical Specialist Radiation Therapist to work as an integral part of the radiology team with our hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities:
* Execute physician orders for all assigned patients, ensuring that drugs and treatments are administered safely and correctly.
* Ensure that the patient understands the treatment procedure and any potential negative effects.
* Demonstrate the competence to assess a patient's comprehension and compliance with instructions and health care education.
* Assess patients for radiation therapy side effects and implement necessary remedies within the scope of practice.
* Provide emotional support to patients and families and refer them to community and hospital support services as needed.
* Complete the daily treatment plan and keep an accurate record of processes, including billing details and codes.
* Perform similar tasks as needed.
* Provide on-call care for people in emergency situations.
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the treatment and CT units to which they are assigned.
* Assist with the day-to-day operations of all departmental units as needed.
* Ensure that the daily list runs smoothly and that there is an acceptable skill mix among the RTs working on the unit.
Requirements:
* Completion of a formal radiation therapy technology program in an Irish/EU/AMA-approved institution.
* CORU registration.
* Completion or initiation of a postgraduate study programme.
* At least six years of relevant post-qualification experience, subject to merit.
* Promotion to clinical specialist level will be based on merit and may occur at any regular annual review session provided appropriate experience has been obtained.
