We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Urology in our Hospital in Limerick, Ireland. Full-time (37.5 hours per week) | Permanent
Responsibilities
* Manage the activities of the urology service from initial consultation to pre assessment and discharge, liaising with the Consultants, Nursing Staff and all other health care professionals and support services.
* Communicate results of assessments, treatment / care programmes and recommendations to the team and relevant others in accordance with service policy as required.
* Assess, report and respond to complaints from patients and relatives within a reasonable or required timeframe.
* Participate in the identification, development and delivery of induction, education, training and development programmes for nursing and healthcare staff and support staff.
* Exercise authority and co-ordinate the functions of the urology services for example, but not limited to Bladder instillations, Urodynamic pressure flow and uroflow testing, female and male catheterisation, self-catheterisation training and Lithotripsy service.
* Provide staff leadership and motivation which is conducive to good working relations and work performance.
Requirements
* Be registered in the General Division of register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* A minimum of 5 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting, in the last 5 years.
* A minimum of 12 months relevant experience in the specialist care of Urology patients in a fast-paced environment.
* Hold a relevant Post Graduate Clinical Qualification in Urology.
* Strong ‘people management’ and change management experience.
