Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Credit Risk department in Europe ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Data reporting and insights: Deliver detailed reports and presentations to key stakeholders, highlighting key findings from data analysis. Act as a business champion for a data-driven, decision-making culture; drive adoption of business insights to solve complex business problems.
Visualization and infographics: Create compelling data visualizations and insights in a clear and compelling manner to influence strategic decisions.
Collaboration: Partner with cross function teams and senior leadership to identify emerging management tools, skills, and techniques. Work closely with global teams to ensure that the infrastructure for data collection, storage, and analysis is optimized. Ensure alignment of data practices and insights across the organization
Define data standards and policies: Establish standards, policies, and procedures to govern data management activities ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, ensuring alignment with effective risk data aggregation and reporting principles (Basel Committee Banking S 239)
Stay attuned to industry trends, regulatory changes and the competitive landscape. Ensure due considerations is given to climate-related and environmental risks.
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Participate in in a variety of working groups or undertake specific projects, which may be beyond the incumbent’s normal scope of business, as and when required.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.

Education / Experience
Graduate education in business or related with emphasis in analytics, finance, accounting, or business; or commensurate work experience.
Strong computer literacy and Excel / Power BI skills
Experience in a banking or financial reporting capacity.
Basic knowledge of the Bank’s risk appetite, lending policies, procedures and practices including local economic, accounting and regulatory requirements for the various specialized industries in the which the Bank’s customers operate an advantage.
Basic understanding of loan structures and pricing.
Strong communication skills.
Be well organized, pro-active, methodical and have a diligent approach to work.
Strong interpersonal, organization and project management skills and ability to work in a fast- paced environment with multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability to quickly process both quantitative and qualitative information and appreciate its potential relevance to Scotiabank.
