Mechanical Utilities Engineer
This role is responsible for carrying out and implementing equipment and process improvement initiatives to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement equipment and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
* Maintain day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activities to ensure equipment performance.
* Develop and manage project plans for manufacturing, utilities, and facilities projects.
* Coordinate maintenance schedules for manufacturing and facility equipment.
* Prepare capital expenditure requests for the facility and plant.
* Establish monthly engineering metrics for operations, utilities, and facilities to drive operational improvements.
* Evaluate and implement cost savings initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with engineering systems during audits.
* Manage relevant budgets within target.
* Cross-train staff to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are achieved.
* Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices are adhered to.
* Implement equipment/process upgrades in an environment of continuous improvement.
* Support the Engineering Team in maintaining manufacturing equipment to meet legal, divisional, and corporate standards.
* Liaise with Global Engineering as required.
* Manage internal and external plant projects effectively.
* Implement policies related to Quality, Engineering & Safety.
* Supervise external contractors and negotiate costs.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical, Electronics, or a relevant discipline.
* Desirable experience in chilled water, boilers, potable water distribution, compressed air generation, LPHW, building management systems, environmental management systems, electricity, building safety systems, and building regulations.
* At least 5 years of experience in Facility and Utility Engineering, preferably in a cGMP environment.
* Able to re-design elements of manufacturing/utility/facility machinery to adapt to process conditions and improve efficiency.
* Experience in managing budgets and driving quality and performance.
