Commis Chef at 5* Glenlo Abbey Hotel

About the Hotel: Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Estate is a 5-Star Hotel in Galway, dating back to 1740. Nestled peacefully on a stunning 138-acre Estate on the edge of Ireland’s largest lake, Lough Corrib, the hotel is located just 4km from Galway City Centre. The hotel features a GUI accredited golf course with a 20 bay driving range, a range of on-site estate activities for guests to enjoy, and a variety of unique dining experiences.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist the senior chefs in preparing and cooking menu items.
* Follow recipes and cooking techniques to maintain consistency and quality.
* Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, and measuring as necessary.
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
* Assist with food inventory and ordering as necessary.
* Ensure all food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a commis chef or in a similar role.
* Knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients.
* Excellent communication and time management skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Formal culinary training or certification is a plus.
* Experience in banqueting would be an advantage.
