The Role:
Avolon is appointing a VP Technical - Asset Management to our Dublin office reporting directly to the Head of Technical Asset Management. The primary focus of the role is to ensure technical oversight for all Avolon’s on-lease assets.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Work effectively within the Asset Management Team to maintain the technical accuracy and integrity of all portfolio assets.
2. Liaise effectively with internal departments such as Transaction Structuring, Origination, Risk, and Customer Management, to support technical activities associated with on-lease aircraft.
3. Manage relationships with lessee technical departments.
4. Assist all trading activity as required, including due diligence query management and specification reviews.
5. Coordinate Avolon’s on-lease inspection programme.
6. Coordinate external stakeholders, suppliers, and customers, always being mindful of longer-term relationships.
7. Perform lease reviews as required to support the above functions.
8. Maintain and produce analytical reports to support the wider business.
9. Provide technical knowledge support to the wider business.
10. Help to develop the processes and systems utilized in the Technical team to ensure the highest quality output.
11. Attend seminars and conferences as may be requested.
12. Work flexibly to meet the global nature of Avolon’s business.
13. Willingness to travel to meet operational needs.

Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Engineering Honours Degree and/or an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License (AMEL).
2. A minimum of five years airline, MRO, or leasing experience within a technical function.
3. Experience in aircraft trading and/or transition management is a strong advantage.
4. Highly proficient with Aircraft Technical Records.
5. Ability to interpret legal terms relating to technical covenants of lease agreements.
6. Highly motivated self-starter who brings original thought, challenge, and innovation to solving problems.
7. Direct, effective, and engaging communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
8. Strong and independent-minded with the ability to express your views with conviction, showing bravery in confronting established thought.
9. Ability to distil complex messages into key takeaways to support management decision-making, summarising findings with impact, putting forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and audiences within Avolon and the industry.
10. Driven, focused, resourceful, and self-motivated with an ability to think independently and work to proactively identify solutions to issues as they arise.
11. Strong drive for results, with a focus on meeting project milestones and timelines.
12. Skilled at compiling and monitoring project statuses, with the ability to present updates to cross-functional teams.
13. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, capable of developing and maintaining positive business relationships to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
14. Showcase a track record of delivering successful outcomes in a fast-paced commercial environment. Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic team setting while managing multiple competing work streams.
15. Willingness and an ability to travel extensively worldwide.
