Itron is dedicated to creating a more resourceful worldPosition Overview: The Payroll Manager will report directly to the Senior Manager - Global Payroll within Itron’s Global Business Services organization based in Cork, Ireland.The role currently offers a hybrid work environment with a competitive remuneration package.As a Payroll Manager, you will oversee and manage payroll operations across multiple countries and regions. Your primary focus will be ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, maintaining payroll data integrity, and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.This role requires a strong understanding of global payroll regulations, excellent leadership and organisational skills, and the ability to navigate complex payroll scenarios across different jurisdictions.Role & Responsibilities:Manage the administration of payroll for employees across multiple countries, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.Lead, mentor, and develop payroll team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.Manage and coordinate with external payroll providers globally to ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing. Responsible for integration of payrolls from new regions.Develop and implement global payroll policies and procedures to streamline processes and ensure best practices.Liaise with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other systems and processes such as benefits, taxes, and accounting.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global payroll regulations and changes that may affect the company's payroll operations.Ability to handle complex payroll scenarios, such as expatriate payroll and cross-border payments.Prepare and review payroll-related reports for management, including monthly payroll reconciliations and variance analyses.Respond to employee inquiries and issues related to payroll, providing excellent customer service and resolving matters in a timely manner.Ensure the security and confidentiality of all payroll and employee data.Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and provide support for payroll-related queries.Create and maintain a strong internal control environment.Maintain confidentiality of sensitive material and information.Assist/Lead in payroll projects as assigned by ManagementDriving innovative solutions and leading the continuous improvement in accuracy, efficiency and service levels.There may occasionally be a need to travel.Key Skills:Proactive, adaptable and flexibleAbility to identify and support process improvement opportunitiesExcellent management change, including the ability to work as part of a team on projectsStrong organizational skillsHigh attention to detailStrong communication, both written and spoken English.Process-driven, Accurate and methodical approachCustomer & Results focusedAble to forge strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to interact with Senior ManagementEducation and/or Experience:Third Level Education, equivalent or aboveProven experience in a global payroll environmentMinimum 5+ years payroll experience, ideally across multiple countriesStrong understanding of statutory deductions, tax rates, social security requirements, and benefits regulations in multiple countries.Experience working with global payroll service providers and managing relationships with external vendors.Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel.Fluent English.
