The Facilities & Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the overall compliance and maintenance of existing facilities and equipment. This includes an active involvement in new development projects, from challenging technical designs to project delivery. Additionally, this role involves providing coaching and mentoring to junior members of the Technical & Engineering function, supporting their professional development.
This position can be based in either Cork or Dublin, with the option for individuals living between these locations to also consider it. It is essential that you have your own transport and hold a full clean driver's license.
Main Responsibilities:
* Developing the annual regional maintenance capex plan.
* Delivering the maintenance capex plan in the region, determining priorities, and tracking progress against the plan.
* Leading the maintenance function in the region, providing technical guidance to local technical engineers, and promoting collaboration between the technical department and operations team.
* Selecting and managing external engineering and service third parties in the region as required.
* Ensuring all assets comply with legal requirements, granted permits, and annual environmental reporting, while maintaining a good relationship with controlling authorities.
This role encompasses several key areas, including:
* Further professionalizing maintenance processes in the region.
* Supporting the evaluation and rollout of an asset management tool.
* Document control (drawings, certifications, etc).
* Providing a structured approach to incident resolution (tracking incidents, work orders, vendors, etc) as well as scheduling of work (inspections & preventive maintenance).
Additionally, this role involves:
* Collaborating closely with the central Solutions & Engineering team on facility design for new development projects, supported by the cluster development manager, project engineer, and external contractors.
* Collaborating with the central Solutions & Engineering team to ensure sharing of best practices.
* Determining capital estimates together with suppliers and based on historical data.
This position requires strong leadership skills, including:
* Oversight of technical aspects of implementation by regional development manager & external contractors.
* Innovation: following and keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies.
* Championing the rollout of the Energy Management program within the cluster.
* Driving a continuous improvement culture across the cluster to identify energy-saving initiatives through improved tracking of energy consumption by activity.
* Investigating opportunities for energy generation and developing investment memos.
* Fostering a culture of best practice sharing within the Facilities & Engineering function.
Required Experience and Skills:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar, and >5 years of experience in a risk-based maintenance and leadership role.
* Own transport and full clean drivers license.
* Demonstrable experience in delivering (maintenance) capital projects.
* Good verbal and written communication and strong analytical skills.
* Solid decision-making and project management skills.
* The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
* Change management experience: capable of setting direction and gaining support for it.
* Effectively traveling to our sites across the region as needed to support both existing facilities and new development projects.
