We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Construction Engineer to join our team for an exciting new project in Athlone.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform site setting out using total station and GPS equipment.
2. Liaise effectively with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to establish clear communication protocols and workflows.
3. Maintain accurate daily records of activities and events using project management software (training provided).
4. Oversee site safety practices and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
5. Follow and enforce ISO company procedures.
6. Monitor project schedules, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
7. Conduct surveys, supervise subcontractors, and verify work quality.
8. Attend and lead site meetings, document reviews, and scheduling discussions to ensure project milestones are met.
9. Manage, mentor, and train junior engineers and staff.
10. Ensure compliance with construction methods and standards, particularly in quality assurance and health and safety.
11. Coordinate project close-out activities, including securing warranties, preparing as-built documentation, and finalizing subcontractor agreements.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
2. 3-5+ years of experience in a similar role.
3. Proficiency in setting out, surveying, and temporary works.
4. Strong technical knowledge of modern construction techniques.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software.
7. In-depth understanding of Irish health and safety regulations for construction.
8. Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
9. Valid Irish driver’s license.
