Lawson House Nursing Home are now looking for a passionate, engaging and caring Activities Coordinator to join our team.
Purpose of the Role
The role of Activities Coordinator is to support the Residents in carrying on of their daily activities while ensuring that their privacy and dignity is respected at all times.
What does this role involve?
* Organizing and maintaining on a daily basis standard activities which include (but are not limited to) arts and crafts, baking, gardening, flower arranging, newspapers quizzes, card games, bingo, exercise sessions, walks, hand massages, nail care, sensory room and arranging attendance at religious services, arranging of outings for Mens Shed/Dollies and seasonal outings.
* Planning and implementing special activities which include outings, garden visits, birthday parties, anniversaries, Christmas and other seasonal celebrations.
* Drawing up a daily and weekly program of activities.
* Maintaining daily files and charts for each Resident that provide clear evidence of the activities planned and carried out.
* Ensuring each resident has an up to date and complete “Life Story Book.”
* Assisting with the orientation of new Residents to the Nursing Home environment.
* Attending in-service training and education programmes as may be required and in accordance with HIQA regulations.
What are the qualifications/skills needed?
* Experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge of a Nursing Home environment is an advantage.
* Completion of Sonas & Imagination Gym courses (desirable but not essential as training can be provided).
* Enthusiastic, caring, reliable.
* Strong communication skills.
* Fluent level of English both written and oral.

Pay: €15,000.00-€17,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 21 – 28 per week
