An MSx Security Engineer is responsible for the network provisioning and onboarding of customers on TPxs Managed Services with a high emphasis on security and networking concepts.
This position will support small, medium and large business network design and implementation.
Qualified candidate must be proficient at Internet Protocol (IP) routing, layer 2 and layer 3 switching, firewall design and implementation.
*This position is fully remote from within Ireland and must accommodate US shifts and time zones (evening work).
General Duties and Responsibilities: FortiGate and Meraki Configurations (firewalls, switches, and access points) Assist warehouse with device activations Provide technical support for testing and turn up of services Be able to view and understand Vizio documents for network topologies Join technical discussions with customer vendors for planning, designing, implementing and supporting clients LAN/WAN, Security and VOIP platforms.
Manage assigned tickets to drive resolution and customer satisfaction.
Participate in managed services support, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs.
Work closely with Project Managers and Service Delivery Specialists to ensure customer timelines for installations are met.
Position assists the Managed Services Support Team as needed or directed by MSx Services Engineering (MSE) management.
May be required to participate in after-hours escalations and work on call as needed.
Required Qualifications: Minimum 1-3 years IT/Network/Telco work experience Bachelors degree in Information Systems or related experience Industry recognized certifications are a plus (CCENT, A+, Network+ etc.)
Cisco CCNA or equivalent work experience to document aptitude Fortigate NSE Certifications Other Qualifications: Design/build experience on small and medium scales Understanding of local and wide area network concepts, IP routing protocols and topologies, switching technologies, virtual LANs( VLANs), packet-level performance analysis and application troubleshooting, Wireshark, Cisco routers and switches, dynamic host control protocol (DHCP), domain name service (DNS), and VPN, Microsoft active directory (AD), Email, Web, Virtualization, Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Word In-depth knowledge of Fortinet, Wi-Fi, session initial protocol / real time protocol (SIP/RTP), VoIP and Video, DNS, simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP), hypertext transport protocol/) HTTP/HTTPS/SSL, Pathview, etc.
Excellent oral, written, time management and presentation skills.
