We have an exciting new opportunity for a Asset Manager to join our team in either or HQ office in Waterford or City West office, Dublin.
The Asset Manager will play a crucial leadership role in managing Suir Engineering's physical and operational assets, ensuring the company's projects are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with industry standards.
This role requires a deep understanding of asset management, and a strong ability to align asset strategies with company goals.
The Asset Manager will work closely with senior management across Finance, Procurement, HR, Operations, Safety, Quality, ESG, Insurance and Compliance Departments to optimize asset utilization, reduce costs, and drive long-term value.

What you will be doing?
Strategic Asset Management: Develop and implement asset management strategies that support Suir Engineering's business objectives, ensuring optimal asset performance and lifecycle management for business assets.
Manage the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of assets, ensuring that all assets, from property, equipment and machinery, are strategically deployed across projects and operations.
Identify and evaluate new asset acquisition opportunities that align with business growth and project needs.
Portfolio & Lifecycle Management: Oversee the management of all physical assets, including motor fleet, property, plant equipment, tools, and machinery across projects and operational sites.
Ensure proactive and efficient lifecycle management of assets, from procurement to decommissioning, minimizing downtime and extending asset lifespan.
Implement maintenance schedules and asset tracking systems to ensure assets are well-maintained and compliant with safety and regulatory standards.
Financial Oversight: Develop and manage budgets for asset procurement, maintenance, and lifecycle management, ensuring costs are controlled and budgets are adhered to.
Provide regular reporting on asset performance, financial forecasts, and ROI analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to optimize the cost of ownership and improve the overall efficiency of asset management practices.
Risk Management & Compliance: Assess and manage risks related to asset performance, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance in the mechanical and electrical engineering sectors.
Ensure all assets meet regulatory, safety, and environmental standards, including industry-specific guidelines for mechanical and electrical systems.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and ensure the timely response to any asset-related issues.
Team Leadership & Development: Work cross-functionally with safety, finance, engineering, procurement, operations, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal utilization of assets across all projects.
Asset Optimization & Innovation: Continuously assess and implement strategies to optimize asset utilization, reduce costs, and maximize the value derived from the company's assets.
Leverage industry trends, new technologies, and innovative approaches to improve asset management processes, such as automation, predictive maintenance, and asset tracking systems.
Identify and implement energy-efficient, sustainable solutions that align with Suir Engineering's commitment to sustainability and ESG goals generally.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Develop and present regular asset performance reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Maintain strong relationships with external suppliers, contractors, and equipment vendors to ensure optimal terms for asset procurement and services.
Liaise with legal and compliance teams to ensure all asset-related activities are in full compliance with relevant industry laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Is this job for me?
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Master's Degree or relevant certifications (e.g., MBA, CEng, PMP, Asset Management certification) preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in asset management, engineering, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in managing mechanical and electrical assets within a project-based environment, ideally in construction, industrial engineering, or related sectors.
Strong background in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for asset-related costs and investments.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and asset management processes, construction industry desirable but not essential.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities.
Proficiency in asset management software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI).
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and safety standards in mechanical and electrical engineering would be advantageous.
