The Process Safety Engineer will perform Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, complete Risk Assessments, and provide safety reports to new and existing site-based projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in project design reviews, HAZIDS, Risk Assessments, and HAZOPS for proposed new equipment, modifications, and new product introductions.
* Ensure management of change processes are followed and serve as EHS reviewer for planning of activities impacting facility operation.
* Conduct technical assessments of safety processes and procedures.
* Lead the development of a strong Process Safety Management culture by identifying gaps through audits, establishing and tracking KPIs, developing improvement strategies, and implementing effective solutions.
* Provide Process Safety Support for Existing Processes, New material introductions, and Project Work.
* Support and provide relevant training in accordance with established training plans.
Experience
* Honours degree level (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Safety, or other related discipline.
* Ideally have 5 years relevant experience within the pharma or semiconductor industry.
* A good understanding of process safety and process engineering, including general processing and plant operations is essential.
