We are currently recruiting for a Communications Executive on behalf of our public sector client. This is initially a 6 month contract.
The role requires a collaborative individual with experience in communications. The candidate should be able to work flexibly and contribute to various aspects of the Agency's communications efforts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assisting the Communications Manager in implementing the Communications Strategy.
2. Supporting the Communications Manager in preparation and running of stakeholder meetings, particularly the Community Liaison Committee and Consultative Group.
3. Preparation of material – both written and visual – for digital and hard copy newsletters, annual reports and other promotional or informational materials/documents.
4. Assisting the Communications Manager with community engagement and consultation processes.
5. Ensuring content is accurate and kept up to date on the GDA website.
6. Developing social media engagement plans.
7. Contributing to the development of communication plans for specific projects, programmes, and events.
8. Assisting in ensuring the GDA brand is embedded internally across all aspects of the Agency’s work.
9. Preparation of marketing material to support the Project Coordinators in publicising the various projects.
10. Assist in organisation and coordination of events whether online or in-person, including, but not limited to Ministerial visits, information sessions, panel discussions, tours, public art launches.
11. Coordinating photo opportunities, monitoring permissions, and reviewing photographic archive to ensure appropriate use.
12. Act as a first point of contact for enquiries from media, local community, elected representatives, individuals, and other organisations and provide timely and helpful responses.
13. Monitoring and evaluating GDA media coverage and circulate as appropriate.
14. Researching, writing and assisting in distributing press releases to targeted media on the Grangegorman Project.
15. Minute-taking of meetings and follow up with actions and queries through Communications email.
16. Engage with and support the Public Art programme, Grangegorman Histories and the Grangegorman Labour and Learning Forum.
17. Represent the Agency at third party events.
18. On/off site, remote (including some out of hours) audio, image and video news capture and gathering.
19. Researching and providing reports on relevant issues and projects.
20. Provide support to the GDA team in other tasks where needed.
Role Requirements
1. Have a qualification of at least a Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications in Journalism, Multimedia/Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
2. A minimum of two years’ experience in communications related role.
3. Experience using and updating social media - such as Twitter (X), Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram for professional purposes.
4. Excellent written communication skills.
5. Be capable of presenting material in a clear, concise, and comprehensive manner.
6. Accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Excellent IT skills.
8. Experience of assisting at launches or events.
9. Ability to use photographic and recording equipment.
10. Knowledge of using a web platform i.e., WordPress or similar.
11. Experience of using creative software or assisting in the creation of promotional materials.
12. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software such as PhotoShop, Lightroom, InDesign or other creative software.
13. Experience of community consultation in relation to urban regeneration and building projects.
14. A knowledge of communication trends and evaluation tools.
