Job description
As System Integrator you will provide senior engineering management to Egis with extensive lifecycle-wide knowledge of railway systems, including project delivery, systems assurance, safety engineering (CSM, interoperability, PSDP/PSCS), infrastructure and rail vehicle engineering.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
1. Take a lead role in managing the Systems design team and managing all technical aspects related to all sub-systems disciplines.
2. Manage the system integration processes from design to construction and Testing and Commissioning.
3. Implement efficient processes to manage system safety (including CDM, CSM-RA and interoperability), Verification and Validation (V&V) and system assurance.
4. Be responsible for progressing all Sub-systems design and development activities and Ensure the Sub-systems design activities / deliverables (e.g. reports, calculations, drawings etc.) are delivered on time and budget
5. Be responsible for the consistency of the Sub-systems deliverables across all projects.
6. Plan and co-ordinate the activities of the System design team (CAD, engineers, expert resources).
7. Ensure the production of System level specifications across disciplines and across extensions (e.g. System Specifications, Interface Specifications, Transverse ad hoc studies).
8. Ensure compliance to procedures, relevant regulations, relevant applicable standards and statutory requirements.
9. Contribute towards the standardisation of specifications for all sub-systems and develop appropriate design criteria wherever not present.
10. Liaise with project Owners team for all system related issues or decisions, represent systems teams in meetings, provide technical opinion or support whenever needed.
11. Contribute to the production of the project Owners Requirements Specifications.
12. Develop the System level Functional and Architecture Specifications
13. Coordinate the Quality aspects of the sub-systems deliverables as per the project Quality Management plan principles.
14. Review and approve (wherever applicable) all deliverables, act as a technical control level across projects.
15. Support the delivery teams.
16. Be the point of contact with Client.
Profile
Essential:
17. 10-15 years of experience in Engineering / Technical functions, with at least 5 years experience as a System Integrator / Design Manager.
18. Excellent knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements, available equipment and systems.
19. Significant experience of developing and implementing strategies for projects and programmes.
20. Excellent understanding to Systems Engineering and associated rail standards, and related regulations (CSM and RIR).
21. Proven capability in managing design for a rail system, especially in multi-disciplinary environments.
22. Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
23. Excellent engineering, analytical and problem-solving abilities
You must have the right to work in the Ireland.
Desirable:
24. BSc or similar in Bachelor Degree (BEng, BSc) in a Numerate, Scientific or Engineering subject or Higher Education/equivalent training and experience.
25. Chartered Engineer status from a recognised institution
Relevant experience in the design, specification and procurement of infrastructure, railway/tram/metro design preferably.
26. Wide knowledge of the rail environment appreciated. Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team.
27. Knowledge of quality assurance.
