A leading insurance company is looking to recruit an Underwriting Controls & Governance Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract.
Reporting to the Head of Underwriting Operations, the hire will be responsible for the oversight of the controls and governance functions of the Underwriting Department along with ensuring the delivery of strategic goals in compliance with the firm's controls & governance framework and relevant regulatory obligations.
Key responsibilities include: Implementing the Product Oversight & Governance policy, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.Overseeing the Quality Assurance framework in collaboration with Underwriting, Product & Pricing, while managing the ROCO process and required controls.Acting as the Business Assurance Coordinator, maintaining Underwriting Manuals and Business Process documentation to uphold underwriting integrity and compliance.Ensuring robust regulatory and statutory reporting, including obligations to the Motor Insurance Bureau, Uninsured Drivers databases, and governance reporting.Managing data governance for underwriting, overseeing data retention projects, and driving regulatory, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.Leading audit coordination, tracking recommendations, and identifying regulatory and underwriting risks to ensure proactive risk management.Key requirements include: Relevant professional (ACII preferable) and/or 3rd level qualification.Proven track record of experience within a non-life insurance company or intermediary.Deep knowledge of technical, regulatory and operational requirements related to non-life insurance companies.
