Purpose of Role: Tritech Engineering are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Key Works Commercial Manager to join our dynamic and agile team. This role involves managing the financial and contractual aspects of our Key Works projects, starting from the estimating and negotiation phase right through to project completion. You will be working on a diverse range of projects for prestigious clients, including data centre operators, the Office of Public Works, the Health Service Executive, and several third-level educational institutions. You will work closely with our Mechanical and Electrical Project Managers, who will manage the technical delivery, while you oversee all commercial aspects of the project lifecycle.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop accurate project estimates by identifying project requirements, scope, and specifications, including carrying out site visits to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project.
2. Lead the preparation and submission of competitive bids, ensuring all financial aspects are covered.
3. Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring favourable terms and compliance with company standards.
4. Draft, review, and manage all contractual documents related to Key Works projects.
5. Monitor and control project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and potential risks.
7. Identify and assess commercial risks in projects and implement strategies to mitigate them.
8. Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, managing any disputes or claims that arise.
9. Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Project Managers to ensure seamless project delivery.
10. Engage with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to build strong relationships and ensure project success.
11. Oversee the preparation and submission of project interim claims and final accounts.
Role Requirements:
1. 3+ years in a commercial or project management role within the construction or engineering industry.
2. A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
3. Strong experience in managing commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, estimating, and contract management.
4. Background in contracting, with hands-on experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines preferred.
5. Some experience in small building works is advantageous but not essential.
6. Highly developed commercial acumen with the ability to manage complex financial aspects of projects.
7. Strong contractual knowledge and experience in negotiating.
8. Proficient in using project management and financial software tools.
