Commencing in June 2025, the Graduate Support Worker position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your professional skills and make a difference. The Graduate Support Worker will be a member of a multi-disciplined team using holistic approaches to support Depaul service users. Working within the principle of harm minimisation where residents receive a high degree of care, support and dignity, Depaul has a commitment to service user participation and to empowering residents to manage their own lives.
This role works across a 7-day week rota.
At the end of the twelve-month programme graduates will be able to:
* Work as a member of a multi-disciplined team in the best interests of the residents and report to the team.
* Encourage and support service users to develop skills in managing their daily living.
* Observe and attend key worker sessions with service users when required.
* Provide a report on an assigned case study during Support Worker Rotation.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
* Encourage and support service users to develop skills in managing their daily living.
* In conjunction with residents and the rest of the team, ensure that the service is kept to a good standard of tidiness, cleanliness, and hygiene including communal areas.
* Encourage service users to take responsibility for maintaining their own environment.
* Observe and attend key worker sessions with service users when required.
* Provide a report on an assigned case study during Support Worker Rotation.
* In conjunction with the project team, assist residents with personal monies, service charge payments, etc. where necessary.
* Carry out project administration tasks such as upkeep of petty cash, project statistics, invoices, record keeping, Service User’s files, OTIS, IR, and AR completion etc.
* Ensure that Health and Safety standards are met within the project in accordance with Depaul’s Health and Safety policy and the project’s Safety Statement.
* Undertake assigned duties regarding the overall health and safety and security of the service and use security systems put in place.
* Support residents to maintain positive Mental Health.
* Work as a member of a multi-disciplined team in the best interests of the residents and report to the team and partner agency when Case Workers are not available.
* Plan and facilitate onsite social activities.
* Attend and participate in team meetings and staff team days.
* Participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.
* Participate in ongoing graduate programmes and events.

PERSON REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
* Qualification in the Social Care field - Social Care, Psychology, Social Science, Criminology or Community Development.
* Relevant experience - student placement or relevant voluntary experience in the Social Care sector required.
* Process an understanding of why people become homeless and the issues they present with, understanding what supports can be offered in homeless services to service users with complex support needs.
* Knowledge of the statutory and voluntary sector resources available to homeless people.
* Good communicator and computer literate.
* Knowledge and understanding of Depaul vision, mission, and values.
* Ability to work shifts.

This post is subject to CORU eligibility; if you do not hold current registration with CORU, you must be able to demonstrate you are working towards the same with existing experience within the Social Care sector.
