Position Description:
The Operations Manager will oversee the overall operations function of our production facility, including production, process, maintenance, health & safety, quality, continuous improvement, and environmental issues.
Key responsibilities include managing production targets, delivery through production planning, manufacturing, and process improvement. You will collaborate with the supply chain specialist to ensure demand planning, materials planning, and supply planning align.
You will oversee logistics, ensuring finished products are transported efficiently. Daily operation management and maintaining a high standard across the operation are essential.
Reporting to the MD, you will be responsible for all aspects of the plant, including production planning and goal setting across teams, working with section leads on Lean initiatives, and creating a continuous improvement culture.
Manage KPIs, ensuring production and manufacturing operate at their best. Interact with warehouse managers to ensure sufficient stock levels, manage teams positively, and motivate employees to perform optimally.
Identify cost-saving and energy efficiency opportunities, manage Health & Safety with the manager as your top priority, drive change management, and work with the head of operations to implement changes improving productivity.
Manage projects related to plant layout, capital equipment, major maintenance programs, and process improvement. Operate according to reliability engineering processes and procedures, and plan resources in relation to raw materials.
Manage logistics and supply chain functions. The ideal candidate will have experience working in food manufacturing, preferably with a minimum of 7 years in a manufacturing environment.
A strong business acumen, experience presenting to Board level, and process improvement skills are essential. An engineering or science-related degree, experience in Health & Safety, and materials management are also required.
Strong influencing skills, motivation, change management, and process improvement experience are necessary. Ability to embrace new systems and educate others is crucial. Attention to detail and problem anticipation are also vital.
