Cork University Hospital (CUH) is a public hospital owned and managed by the Health Service Executive (HSE) and is a member of the South/South West Hospital Group. CUH also forms part of the Cork University Hospitals Group (CUHG), which includes Mallow General Hospital and Bantry General Hospital.

Registrars in Respiratory Medicine rotate between Cork University Hospital and Mallow General Hospital.

Cork University Hospital is a regional centre for secondary and tertiary care for the catchment area of HSE South, providing a range of supra-regional services in various specialities to the southern one third of Ireland.
At a national level, CUH is one of two designated Level 1 trauma centres in the country, one of two 24/7 neurosurgical and stroke thrombectomy centres, and one of five 24/7 PPCI centres, among other specialized services.
