Social Care Worker - Permanent Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Care Worker to join our residential Services.
As a Social Care Worker, you will support individuals to achieve their personal outcomes, build on their potential, and develop positive roles within their home and in the community.
Working hours will be variable including day shifts, evening shifts and weekends.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
* Support the Person In Charge with all aspects of the effective running of the residential service.
* Facilitate and implement a person-centered approach for the individuals we support appropriate to their wishes and goals.
* Promote and protect the rights of the individuals in a manner that respects their dignity, their right to make choices and their privacy.
* Seek new interests and opportunities for the individuals we support to develop meaningful roles in their communities.
* Evaluate the overall wellbeing of the individuals we support in all areas of their lives including health and personal care.
* Assist in teaching life skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning and building confidence.
* Drive the company vehicle.
* Maintain knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards.
* Experience of dealing with challenging behaviors.
* Understanding of behavioral support plans.
* MAPP experience or equivalent.
* Knowledge of therapeutic interventions.
* Teaching skills in cooking, budgeting, cleaning and building confidence.
* Experience in alternative communications.
* Exceptional organization and communication skills.
* Creative problem-solving techniques.
* Enthusiasm, energy and creativity.
* Manage confidential information in a discreet and responsible manner.
* Expert IT and report writing skills.
* Flexibility to work a variety of rostered shifts over a seven-day work period.
Qualification/Requirements:
* Hold a degree in Social Care or Foreign Equivalent (validated by QQI).
* At least six months post qualification experience of working with adults with an intellectual disability.
* Full clean driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicle.
