MainPurpose of Job: Tocomplete all the basic cleaning jobs as quickly and efficiently as possible, toensure a safe and swift running of the kitchen and associated preparation areas.The main duties are collecting and washing up of pots and pans that have beenused for cooking, cleaning food preparation areas and equipment and collectingand cleaning crockery and cutlery.
Liaises with: Stores, Back ofHouse, Food & Beverage Dept.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Maintain storage areas for mops, brushes, and detergents in a cleanand tidy manner.
2. To ensure that all items of crockery/cutlery and glassware arewashed properly, dried, and stored correctly.
3. Cleaning of pots, pans, equipment etc as required and ensure theyare stored correctly and neatly.
4. To carry out cleaning duties, including deep cleaning, as outlinedin the cleaning schedule for kitchen equipment, the kitchen, canteen, andassociated areas.
5. To keep waste management areas clean and tidy, including frequentemptying of bins and compost bins.
6. To ensure that all kitchen and food service items pots, pans, crockery,cutlery and glassware are available on time as needed.
7. To be aware of hazardous substances and to ensure that relevantprotective clothing is worn and that directions are followed.
8. To report to Head Chef / Sous Chef on duty any broken equipment or itemsnot considered safe.
9. To participate in any training designed toimprove standards and performance.
10. Work in accordance with standard procedures.
11. To maintain exceptionally high standards ofcleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the Department.
12. To maintain upkeep of the Kitchendepartments vehicles’ (vans and buggys).
13. To operate these vehicles safely andaccording to instructions.
