We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chemistry Trainer to support the development of analysts in a pharmaceutical laboratory environment. This role is essential in onboarding new analysts, coordinating training programs, and ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and laboratory procedures.
Job Description
As a Chemistry Trainer, you will be responsible for guiding new analysts through their induction process, overseeing their technical training, and ensuring they develop the necessary competencies to perform laboratory testing accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with Team Leads to prioritize training needs and assist in investigations, SOP updates, and inventory management for training materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct basic lab induction for new analysts, covering Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), glassware cleaning, and daily lab tasks.
* Organize and schedule training sessions in collaboration with analysts and Team Leads.
* Prioritize training requirements based on both team and individual needs.
* Monitor and support analysts as they perform tasks for the first time, answering questions as needed.
* Ensure proficiency in Empower3 software for HPLC and GC testing.
* Assist in investigations and root cause analysis related to laboratory testing.
* Educate analysts on Standard Inventory Management using LIMS software.
* Reinforce GMP principles, emphasizing the impact of non-compliance.
* Track training completion and identify trends in required training.
* Ensure new and updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are acknowledged and understood by analysts via an online control system.
* Assist with SOP updates, addressing potential issues in both live testing and training scenarios.
* Maintain stock and inventory of training materials, requesting additional supplies as needed.
* Identify opportunities to enhance the training program and develop a more robust analyst onboarding process.
* Provide hands-on support to analysts in testing procedures and instrument setup.
* Review HPLC and Wet Chemistry work, both in training and live testing scenarios.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of HPLC, GC, and Wet Chemistry techniques.
* Proficiency in Empower3 software and LIMS.
* Experience in GMP-regulated laboratory environments.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and mentor junior staff.
* Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
