Utilities Shift Lead Contract Duration/Type: Permanent Location: Mulhuddart Shift Hours Overview of the role; We are seeking a highly motivated and safety conscious individual to fill the vacant Shift Lead position on our critical utilities hard services maintenance and calibrations contract for one of the world's leading pharmaceutical company's based in Dublin. The shift lead has overall responsibility for operation of all critical utilities equipment and systems on site during their scheduled shift. The Shift Lead shall be responsible to ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe and professional manner. In the event of critical system failure, the Shift Lead will be the main point of contact and will be responsible for escalating the issue and allocating his/her shift resources to quickly resolve the issue. He/she will also lead the morning Shift Pass-down meeting, reporting on equipment and system status from the previous 24 hours and highlighting any issues. The Shift Lead will work closely with the Utility Operations Lead, the Maintenance and Calibrations Lead, the Veolia day maintenance team, and Client SME's to ensure safe and efficient operations of the site's black utilities Day to Day of the Role: The Shift Lead will oversee the operations of his/her shift and ensure that all equipment and systems are operated safely and efficiently and available for use at all times. He/she will have extensive knowledge of utilities across the site and will ensure that shift team members gain this knowledge also He/she will be fully conversant with the Shift Expectations document and will ensure that all shift members carry out their duties and responsibilities as per requirements The Shift Lead will oversee the operations of his/her shift and ensure that all equipment and systems are operated safely and efficiently and available for use at all times. He/she will have extensive knowledge of utilities across the site and will ensure that shift team members gain this knowledge also He/she will be fully conversant with the Shift Expectations document and will ensure that all shift members carry out their duties and responsibilities as per requirements Required Skills for the Role: Engineering degree or equivalent, preferably mechanical/environmental, with three to four years post-graduate experience, preferably in mechanical/building services, or Trade qualification (National Craft Cert, City & Guilds or Equivalent), preferably mechanical/electrical, with eight to ten years post-apprenticeship experience, preferably in mechanical/building services, or Marine qualification, with 4 to 6 years' experience at sea. At least 5 years of technical experience At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory role Good working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for a wide range of plant equipment: Proven capability of working with Pumps, HVAC systems, Air Compressors, Steam Boilers and Steam Systems ancillary services, Domestic Hot Water, Refrigerant Chillers, Cooling towers, Steam Boilers, High and Low Voltage electrical systems, PLC's, Building Management Systems, Understanding of Basic Instrumentation. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to read and interrogate mechanical/ instrumentation & process drawings Excellent people management skills Self starter Team Player Excellent Organisational and planning skills Experience of working shifts, preferably in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment. Previous shift lead experience would be a distinct advantage Experience in the use of BMS/MCS system Experience in problem-solving and troubleshooting Ability to work in a team atmosphere, with the ability to recognize and facilitate conflicts through to resolution. Self-motivated with a desire to learn, Good Technical aptitude Exceptional problem-solving skills coupled with proven analytical abilities enable you to consider the details and complexities of issues while driving for results.
