We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical/Educational Psychologist (Staff Grade) to join our team in Network 5 - Galway City West. This fixed-term contract will last for six months, with a guaranteed 35 hours of work per week.
About the Role:
This role involves providing psychological services to children aged 0-18 and their families who attend the City West Network Disability Team, working within an interdisciplinary framework that prioritizes family-centered practice. The successful candidate will also support other staff members and students as assigned.
Duties:
* The post holder will work under the direction of the CDNM and collaborate with psychology colleagues to provide an integrated service to children and their families.
* They will develop consultation and support programs for parents and families as needed, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping in accordance with Enable Ireland's policies and procedures.
* The psychologist will provide reports and information to relevant parties, refer to other professionals, liaise with schools, and participate in meetings and case conferences as necessary.
* They will apply clinical reasoning to plan, implement, and evaluate interventions based on the child or young person's goals, always maintaining informed consent and adhering to best practices.
Caseload Management:
* The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their caseload effectively, applying and developing procedures including prioritization, coordination with other team members, and evaluation of effectiveness in collaboration with the team manager.
Professional Reasoning and Quality Assurance:
* The post holder will engage in reflection and evaluation of their practice, demonstrate logical problem-solving and decision-making skills, and adhere to Enable Ireland's policies, procedures, and guidelines.
* They will contribute to ongoing quality assurance initiatives, ensuring professional practice aligns with Enable Ireland's core values and Duty of Care.
Professional Development & Support:
* The successful candidate will participate in regular supervision, direct their personal professional development, and engage in training and developmental opportunities as identified in their Personal Professional Development Plan.
Essential Criteria:
1. The successful candidate must hold a university degree or diploma (QQI level 8 equivalent) in Psychology, with honours obtained in that subject.
2. They must possess an Irish postgraduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.
3. The candidate must demonstrate competence in the area applied for and have acquired supervised clinical experience in health settings.
4. Eligibility to work in the state is required.
