THE ROLE
The purpose of the role is to be part of a team to design, deliver and develop digital and classroom-based technical and developmental training programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Team
* Contribute to a team environment with an open communication culture
* Agree clear goals with Team Leader
* Develop plans, delegate tasks, and set deadlines
* Monitor own performance aligned with agreed metrics
Subject Matter Expertise
* Identify appropriate learning approach
* Set learning objectives for each course aligning these with learning objectives and organisational goals.
* Develop content into logical course structure
* Create engaging instructional materials – online content and classroom/virtual classroom presentations
o Videos
o Infographics
o Interactions
o Images
o Animations
* Recommend modern educational methods.
* Leverage digital technologies to meet learners' needs – Learning Management System, authoring tools, multimedia software, AI.
* Conduct user testing to evaluate the effectiveness of the learning materials.
* Make necessary adjustments based on feedback from SMEs and learners.
* Manage and administer courses.
* Create analytics to meet reporting requirements.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills
* Develop and maintain relationships with key colleagues and other relevant parties.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning needs and training gaps.
* Work with Subject Matter Experts to design and develop curriculum frameworks, course outlines, and instructional plans.
* Post-course assessment of implementation and gathering of feedback.
Technical Expertise
* Work experience of 2 years as an IT Designer or similar role
* Work experience with Moodle-based Learning Management Software (Totara)
* High experience with Microsoft
* Good knowledge of content development software including:
o Learning Management System – Totara (Moodle-based)
o Articulate 360
o Camtasia
o Canva
o Powtoon
o Vyond
o Video and sound recording equipment.
* Ability to write clear instructional manuals and guides.

Requirements
Qualifications
* 1 - 2 years’ work experience as an instructional designer
* Relevant instructional design qualification desirable

* Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships and provide exceptional service to stakeholders
