Job Title: Qualified Accountant
Location: Dublin City
Working Model: Hybrid (two days in the office post-initial training period)
Abrivia is currently recruiting for a Qualified Accountant to join our client, a well-established insurer with an international presence. This role sits within the finance team and will support both the finance manager and chief financial officer, focusing on financial reporting, contract analysis, and process improvements.
Your Role
1. Review, control, and analyse financial performance for assigned international contracts, providing detailed reports and insights.
2. Support financial assessments, internal controls, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure profitability and compliance.
3. Participate in the onboarding of new contracts, ensuring all financial processes and systems are set up correctly.
4. Prepare and maintain audit trails for assigned contracts, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial records.
5. Liaise with internal finance teams and external stakeholders, including brokers, claims handlers, and fronting insurers.
6. Assist with the preparation of client profit share and underwriting year analysis.
7. Work closely with commercial teams across Europe and the US to provide financial insights and support business objectives.
8. Contribute to system and process enhancements within the finance function, driving efficiency and accuracy.
9. Support the finance team with reconciliations, reporting, and control schedule maintenance.
10. Undertake ad hoc projects as required by senior finance leadership.
Your Skills
1. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or part-qualified with relevant financial reporting and control experience.
2. Strong numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
4. A proactive and self-motivated approach, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
5. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
6. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems and processes.
Desirable Experience (Not Essential)
1. Experience in insurance or reinsurance accounting.
2. Familiarity with SAP reporting systems.
3. A European language (French or Spanish) would be an advantage.
