Housekeeping Supervisor - UPMC Whitfield

Overview of role:
UPMC Whitfield Hospital is recruiting a Housekeeping Supervisor on a full-time, permanent basis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational:
* To ensure all cleaning standards are met consistently as defined in policies.
* To carry out audits as defined by the manager in accordance with hospital criteria.
* To produce results of audits and action plans to ensure corrective action is carried out.
* To check standards, which may have failed in previous audits.
* To liaise with hospital representatives as required, i.e., to respond to bleep requests in a prompt manner, to discuss special requests as they arise.
Staffing:
* To plan and document rosters weekly in advance in accordance with the work to be carried out.
* Maintain the time and attendance system (clockwise) daily.
* To ensure all staff commence work in the correct location at the correct time.
* To manage all staff issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* To train new staff in accordance with hospital standards.
* Manage the E&C process for all staff in the department.
Financial:
* To ensure all staff, materials and equipment resources are used in accordance with the budget as agreed with the hospital.
* To check all equipment and materials are stored correctly and securely.
Health and Safety:
* To comply with all health and safety procedures.
* To ensure safety signs are used appropriately as work is carried out.
* To check that all equipment is in good repair, safe to use and tested according to company procedure.
* To ensure that all safety data sheets are up to date and filed/displayed correctly.
* To check that all equipment is appropriately labelled.
* To report electrical and mechanical repairs as appropriate.
General:
* To carry out all other reasonable requests as they arise from time to time.
* To always represent the company in a professional manner.
* To attend training programmes and meetings as required.

* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* High level of attention to detail, efficiency and accuracy at all times
* Experience in a similar role
