Our client is based in Sligo and seeks a Mechanical Engineer III for a 12-month contract. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join their team.
Responsibilities
1. Manage project execution within the group, overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
2. Carry out equipment and process improvement initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation.
3. Maintain day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activities for manufacturing and utility equipment.
4. Establish performance goals, schedules, and timetables with the Site Engineering Services Manager.
5. Assist with managing and supporting manufacturing/utility/facility project plans.
6. Coordinate maintenance of manufacturing & facility equipment according to required maintenance schedules.
7. Prepare capital expenditure requests for the facility, plant, and equipment.
8. Develop monthly engineering metrics for operations, utilities, and facilities, focusing on the Site Maintenance Excellence Program.
9. Ensure successful agency, external, divisional, and corporate audits related to engineering compliance systems.
10. Provide timely and accurate management reports as requested.
11. Manage relevant budgets effectively, staying within target parameters.
12. Engage in cross-training within the department to ensure appropriate preventive maintenance schedules are achieved.
13. Guarantee adherence to safety standards and safe working practices.
14. Pursue continuous improvement by implementing equipment/process upgrades.
15. Collaborate with the Engineering Team to maintain manufacturing equipment to meet legal, divisional, and corporate standards.
16. Liaise with Global Engineering as needed.
17. Effectively manage internal and external plant projects.
18. Implement relevant policies related to Quality, Engineering, and Safety.
19. Supervise external contractors, developing performance metrics for third-party service providers of site services.
20. Negotiate cost and drive quality and performance with external contractors.
21. Prepare and implement CAPA plans as necessary.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a relevant discipline.
Desired Requirements
* Experience in Chilled Water, boilers, Potable Water distribution, Compressed Air Generation, LPHW, Building Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, Electricity, Building Safety Systems, and Building regulations.
Technical/Business Knowledge
* 5+ years of experience in Facility and Utility Engineering, preferably in a cGMP environment.
* A demonstrated track record in managing budgets and re-designing elements of manufacturing/utility/facility machinery to adapt to process conditions and improve efficiency.
* Experience in Electricity, LPHW, Chilled Water, and Potable Water distribution, Compressed Air Generation, Building Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, Building Safety Systems, and Building regulations.
