About Us
Waterford Intellectual Disability Association (WIDA) is a community-based voluntary provider of services for adults and children with an intellectual disability and/or autism in Waterford City and County.
We are a registered charity with a voluntary Board of Directors and are fully funded by the Health Service Executive.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Board in meeting corporate governance requirements and responsibilities in a Charity context.
* Ongoing review of systems, documentation, and practices to ensure compliance with regulations.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to address shortfalls and forecast requirements.
* Ensure key activities such as quality, safety, and risk management are included in the remit of the Board and systems are in place to facilitate this.
* Identify, document, and manage risk; advise the Board on Corporate Governance Principles and implementation of governance programs and risk management frameworks.
* Monitor and maintain division of responsibility and separation of power.
Quality Management
* Manage external audits, including NSAI certification.
* Ensure company policies are in compliance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
