We are currently seeking a Social Worker to join our Sligo based Child Protection team. These candidates will be providing support and care to individuals in need. The Social Worker will be responsible for assisting clients with their daily activities, promoting their independence, and improving their overall quality of life. This role requires empathy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of those in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver quality service in line with CORU standards, legislation, and employer guidelines.
2. Incorporate recovery principles, ethical social work values, and evidence-based practices.
3. Conduct psychosocial assessments, develop interventions, and address service users' individual and collective needs.
4. Manage and prioritize caseloads, providing emotional, practical support, and advocacy for service users.
5. Promote independence, empowerment, and holistic well-being through co-produced interventions and community engagement.
6. Collaborate with other disciplines/agencies, assess social conditions, and arrange appropriate social services.
7. Monitor and evaluate person-centered care plans with consent.
8. Promote anti-discriminatory practices and cultural competence.
9. Participate in team initiatives, attend meetings, and represent the service in relevant settings.
10. Keep the Line Manager informed and deputize as needed.
Requirements:
1. Relevant qualification in social care or a related field (bachelors).
2. CORU Registration
3. Previous experience in a social work setting is advantageous.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
6. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
7. Knowledge of regulations and best practices in social work.
8. A valid driver's license may be required.
