PE Global is currently recruiting for a Centreline Engineer for a leading Electrical Utilities client based in Dublin. This is a 12-month contract.
Business Activity
The Generation Projects team within Engineering and Major Projects is tasked with responsibility for leading the engineering input during project development stage, managing construction stage of new-build projects and managing overhaul projects on existing assets for ESB Generation & Trading (GT). The Centreline Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of the centreline overhaul works (night shift) in line with the requirements set out by the overhaul project manager. The role will involve supporting the overhaul project team to deliver the project(s) safely, on schedule, on budget and to the required quality.
Position Description
As the Centreline Engineer you will be working in partnership with the rest of the project team supporting the overhaul project manager with the safe and efficient delivery of the centreline overhaul works. Ensuring that the OEM carries out their works safely, efficiently and in accordance with the agreed OEM and ESB’s defined processes and procedures. This position requires the applicant to be mobilised on site and support the nightshift phase of these works.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting the overhaul project manager with the safe and efficient delivery of the centreline overhaul programme.
2. Ensuring the quality of the centreline works are carried out in accordance with the agreed protocols.
3. Supervising the centreline works and ensuring works are completed in accordance to the defined procedures. Identifying any issues and supporting the resolution of the same.
4. Reporting and documenting progress and feeding back to the project team and project manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
1. Experience of GT 26 and GE (Legacy Alstom) ST Overhauls
2. Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Working from height.
3. Knowledge / experience of GT testing and assembly protocols (i.e. witness and hold point tolerances, assembly best practice etc.)
4. Good working knowledge of all Mechanical, Electrical and C&I issues associated with GT 26 plant
5. Supervision / Reporting experience
6. Safety and environmental management experience, including understanding of the PSDP/PSCS roles and responsibilities
7. Experience of management of overhauls in combined cycle stations
8. Primary engineering degree, a degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
