Job Purpose
We are seeking a Head of Group Sustainability to join the Chief Corporate Services Office.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Corporate Services Officer and be a member of EirGrid's extended leadership team.
As the Head of Group Sustainability, you will manage and oversee the development and execution of the sustainability strategy, working closely with the Head of Group Strategy and Policy to align with the overall Strategy.
You will lead on embedding sustainability into the culture of the organisation, ensuring that sustainability is a consideration in day-to-day, commercial and strategic decision-making processes.
You will drive excellence in sustainability performance monitoring and reporting, providing challenge to the business and ensuring targets proposed by the business are appropriate, meaningful, measurable, and stretching.
You will also ensure that EirGrid satisfies its external disclosure requirements.
About You
* Knowledge of ESG principles implementation within an organisation, development of and implementation of ESG strategy, and experience of developing systems to meet external ESG disclosure requirements.
* Strategic and operational thinker with the ability to implement operational solutions in a cross-functional environment.
* Prior experience of related strategy development, implementation, and monitoring.
* Prior experience of instigating and managing sustainability programmes.
* Strong organisational, planning, and process management skills.
* Strong business acumen and ability to understand the overall business operating model within the context of the organisation being a commercial state company in a regulated environment.
* Strong analytical skills and rigorous attention to detail.
* Ability to build credibility and strong relationships with stakeholders in a cross-functional environment, with ability to influence and engage in constructive challenge.
* Excellent presentation and communications skills, verbal and written; ability to take information and present it to stakeholders in a non-complex manner.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure of deadlines, whilst working independently.
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, demonstrate resilience, and be comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity.
* Proficient in MS Office suite of products.
* Qualified to degree level or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
* Prior experience working in the electricity sector and/or a regulated environment is helpful but not essential.
Estimated salary: €80,000 - €110,000 per annum.
