We're seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager who is Honest, Consistent and Passionate. They should take pride in their work and maintain high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Creating a Positive Team Atmosphere: Build a positive team environment among Team Members.
Providing Feedback and Training: Regularly provide feedback, training, and pre-service briefings to the Team.
Setting High Standards: Set high standards for appropriate team behaviour on shift and treat all Team Members fairly and with respect.
Food Presentation and Handling: Work with food and beverage staff to ensure proper food presentation and handling procedures.
Communication: Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, delays, or guest requirements.
Allergies and Special Requests: Communicate allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of work areas, cutlery, glass, etc. throughout the shift.
Order Preparation: Review order dockets ensuring accurate and timely preparations for order requirements accordingly.
Presentation and Payment: Present accurate final bill to guests and process payment.
Coaching and Development: Take an active role in coaching and developing junior staff.
Duties and Maintenance: Perform any other duties related to food and beverage service assigned by the manager, arrange maintenance and repair of equipment, and handle cash and credit card transactions.
Guest Satisfaction: Handle guest complaints in restaurants and ensure issues are resolved on the spot.
Requirements:
Flexibility and Adaptability: Be flexible in dealing with changes and problems, such as being short-staffed.
Prioritization: Shift priorities and goals as work demands change.
Task Management: Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure most important tasks are completed on time.
Delegation and Accountability: Delegate and follow-up effectively, taking ownership of issues or tasks and giving detailed updates to the DOR manager and Executive Chef.
Guest Feedback: Seek, listen, and respond to guest feedback as per company policy.
Accountability: Do not blame others; take accountability for problems.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Point of Sale (POS) software.
Teamwork: Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams.
Key Attributes:
Availability: Must be able to work all shifts, including late finishes, weekends, and holidays.
Leadership and Organisation: Be able to lead a team and have excellent organisation skills.
Language: Requires fluency in the English language.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year's previous hospitality experience in a managerial position is essential.
Knowledge and Passion: Have a great knowledge and passion for F&B.
Team Player: Must be a team player and have a 'can do' attitude.
Pressure Handling: Ability to handle pressure and busy periods.
Professionalism: Be clean, punctual, professional in your work and appearance.
