Kilkenny Good Shepherd Centre is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Permanent Full-time & Relief Shift Attendants/Support Workers.
About Us
We provide emergency accommodation for up to 37 residents, 8 transitional residents, and one family in emergency situations. Our services are designed with a low threshold approach, ensuring that everyone who needs our help can access it easily.
Duties and Responsibilities
* To comply with all policies and procedures and adhere to the ethos of Kilkenny Good Shepherd Centre.
* Work as part of a team to create and maintain a safe and caring environment for all service users.
* Provide a non-directive support and advocacy service to service users.
* Promote service user participation and social interaction with the community.
* Support and follow behavioural care/support plans developed by Project Workers.
* Act as an advocate for service users as appropriate.
* Be responsible for supervising Kilkenny Good Shepherd Centre while on duty.
* Maintain accurate records and write reports as required.
* Communicate with incoming staff, students, or volunteer staff at shift changeover.
* Attend to reception duties, including telephone, fax, typing, and case files.
* Maintain confidentiality in relation to service users and staff.
Requirements
* Min Level 5 - Social care qualification.
* Full clean Irish driving licence.
* Good communication and people skills.
* Effective problem-solving ability.
Working Hours
This is a 24/7 service, requiring weekend, night, and public holiday shifts. You may also be required to work at short notice in emergency situations. The post holder may be required to attend training/meetings at other locations within the South East region.
